Bulletin version: 1.0
Applies to: SOWA Live 6, Live 12, Tour 6, FOH — firmware versions 1.0.7 through 1.1.0
Audience: Distributors & service partners
A firmware bug in versions 1.0.7 to 1.1.0 prevents speakers from being updated via the SOWA App. The over-the-air firmware transfer fails on these versions. This affects units shipped approximately Q3–Q4 2025.
Speakers and FOH units shipping since December 2025 come with firmware 1.1.1 or later, which does not have this issue.
This bulletin is especially relevant for customers purchasing the new SOWA Mic, as Mic requires speakers to be on firmware 1.2.0 or later.
A speaker or FOH running firmware 1.1.1+ can share its firmware with other SOWA devices in the same system over the wireless network. This peer-to-peer update bypasses the app-based transfer that fails on affected versions.
The customer needs at least one device on 1.1.1+ to bring the rest of their system up to date.
1. Customer buys Mic together with new speakers or FOH
No issue — the new hardware ships with 1.1.1+. However, if your stock includes units from Q4 2025, verify the firmware version before shipping. Update any units on 1.0.7–1.1.0 before sending them to the customer.
2. Customer buys Mic for existing SOWA products
Ask the customer to check their speaker firmware version in the SOWA App (Device List → Click the device).
